幼少時から音楽と新劇に親しみ、1986年以降プロとして舞台に立つ。1990年、宮城聰氏主宰のク・ナウカに招聘され、コンセプト立案を含む立ち上げから参加。『ハムレット』『サロメ』などに出演。
1991年、自身のユニットEt in terra pax（エト・イン・テラ・パックス）を創立。プロデュース、作・演出、出演、美術・映像、衣装から企画・ファンドレイジングまでを担い、その都度集まるスタッフと舞台作品をつくり続け、35年目を迎える。
新宿パークタワーホール、青山スパイラルホール、ソウル国立劇場などで一人舞台に立つほか、音楽、美術、俳優、演技指導の分野でも活動。2017年より闘病生活に入り、2025年に舞台復帰。

アーティストとして
幼少時から音楽と新劇に親しみ、1986年以降プロとして舞台に立つ。1990年、静岡芸術劇場SPAC（スパック）芸術総監督・宮城聰（みやぎ さとし）氏主宰のク・ナウカへ招聘され、コンセプト立案を含む立ち上げから参加。『ハムレット』『サロメ』（サロメの母・ヘロディアス役）などへ出演。
1991年より自身のユニットEt in terra paxを創立。プロデュース／作・演出／出演／美術・映像／衣装など、すべてのアートクリエイティヴと企画・ファンドレイジングを担い、その都度集められるスタッフと共に舞台作品をつくり上げ、35年目。現在までに、新宿パークタワーホール、青山スパイラルホール、ソウル国立劇場などで一人舞台に立つ。
音楽活動
数々のLIVEステージやアルバムリリースに参加。
美術
国際的美術展へ招聘。建築家・隈研吾（くま けんご）氏とのコラボレーションなど、アートインスタレーション作品でも評価を得る。
俳優として
1986年に寺山修司系歌劇団に所属し、合計約100本の舞台に出演。2001年、映画監督・及川中（おいかわ あたる）氏を迎えて行われた、カミング・スーン主催の映画オーディション「NOTHING BUT FILMSワークショップ」において、参加者65名中1位「最優秀演技者賞」を受賞。
同年、芸能事務所マッシュに所属し芸能活動を開始。2006年に契約終了、フリーに。2007年、鹿児島県鹿屋市にて俳優塾「Kanoya Actors Lab.」を主宰し、演技指導を行う。
2017年に闘病生活に入り、2025年に舞台復帰。現在に至る。

Kohya Arimura creates stage works without dialogue or choreography, taking on music, visual art, video, costumes and fundraising along the way. In a conversation lasting approximately two hours and 41 minutes, Arimura and Dan explore Et in terra pax’s 35-year journey, the distinction between art and entertainment, the challenges of collaboration, and the nature of beauty.

Performing arts creator, producer and actor
Founder of the art-performance unit Et in terra pax
Immersed in music and shingeki theatre from childhood, Arimura began performing professionally in 1986. In 1990, Arimura was invited to join Satoshi Miyagi’s Ku Na’uka from its founding, contributing to its concept development and performing in productions including Hamlet and Salome.
In 1991, Arimura founded Et in terra pax. Now in its 35th year, the unit brings together collaborators for each production, with Arimura overseeing producing, writing, directing, performance, visual art, video, costumes, planning and fundraising.
Arimura’s solo performances have appeared at Shinjuku Park Tower Hall, Spiral Hall in Aoyama and the National Theater of Korea in Seoul. The practice also encompasses music, visual art, acting and teaching. After a period of illness beginning in 2017, Arimura returned to the stage in 2025.

Artistic practice
Familiar with music and shingeki theatre from childhood, Arimura has performed professionally since 1986. In 1990, Arimura was invited to join Ku Na’uka, led by Satoshi Miyagi—introduced in the episode biography as General Artistic Director of SPAC in Shizuoka. Arimura participated from the company’s founding, including concept development, and appeared in Hamlet and Salome, playing Salome’s mother, Herodias.
Arimura founded Et in terra pax in 1991. In its 35th year, the unit continues to create stage works with teams assembled for each project. Arimura handles the full range of artistic creation—producing, writing, directing, performance, visual art, video and costumes—as well as planning and fundraising. Solo performances have been presented at Shinjuku Park Tower Hall, Spiral Hall in Aoyama and the National Theater of Korea in Seoul.
Music
Arimura has participated in numerous live performances and album releases.
Visual art
Invited to international art exhibitions, Arimura has also received recognition for art installations, including collaborations with architect Kengo Kuma.
Acting
In 1986, Arimura joined a music-theatre company in the tradition of Shuji Terayama, appearing in approximately 100 stage productions. In 2001, Arimura placed first among 65 participants and received the best-performer award at the NOTHING BUT FILMS workshop, a film audition organised by Coming Soon with director Ataru Oikawa.
That same year, Arimura joined the talent agency Mash. The contract ended in 2006, followed by freelance work. In 2007, Arimura established Kanoya Actors Lab. in Kanoya, Kagoshima, providing acting instruction.
A period of illness began in 2017. Arimura returned to the stage in 2025 and continues to work today.

An encounter that began
with Reiwa no Tora.
Arimura watched Dan’s appearance on Reiwa no Tora, followed by Reiwa no Ryu. A connection on X eventually led to this conversation. A Dandy Asobi Club proposal that had been rejected became the starting point for a new connection between two artists.
