「民主主義における人権の認知戦的敗北とは？」
基本的人権という言葉を人類が使うようになって何世紀経つかわからないが
その人権というものの意義深さや本質は
今も浸透し切ってはいないように思える
あるいはそのようなものの存在を
「諦めてしまっている」
だけなのかもしれない
だから権力に走り
自己利益のみに固執する
恐怖や不安がそうさせてるってわけだ
右も左も関係なく
そういった情動を
根底的には感じる
しかし民主主義において
人権が存在するには
人々が人権の存在を信じることが
大前提な訳で
それを人々がやめてしまう
あるいはそうさせられてしまう
というのはまさしく
認知戦における敗北である
としか言いようがない
その場合において
果たして本質的な勝者が誰であるのか
それも私にはわからないのだ
あるいは真の勝者など
その場合は存在しないのかもしれない

I don’t know how many centuries have passed since humanity began using the term “fundamental human rights,”
but even now, it seems the profound significance and true essence of what we call human rights have still not fully taken root.
Or perhaps it is simply that people have
“given up”
on the very idea that such a thing could exist.
That is why they run toward power,
clinging only to self-interest —
it is fear and anxiety that drive them to do so.
Regardless of right or left,
I sense that same underlying emotion
at a fundamental level.
Yet in a democracy,
for human rights to exist at all,
the absolute precondition is that people believe in their existence.
When people stop believing that —
or are made to abandon that belief —
it can only be described as
a defeat in cognitive warfare.
In such a case,
who the true, essential victor would be,
I honestly do not know.
Or perhaps, in that scenario,
no true victor exists at all.
