What Causes Heinous Crimes?

(For the English version, please scroll down.)

The more people there are who care only about themselves,
the worse public safety becomes, and strange incidents multiply.
That simply means negative energy is building up across society.

Every seemingly trivial act of putting one’s own comfort above all else
ends up feeding someone else’s small frustration.
And most of the negative energy that spreads through society
is nothing more than the accumulation of those small frustrations.

The only way forward is to first calm one’s own heart,
and then, guided by a genuine sense of aesthetics,
carefully untangle the knots that have formed throughout society, one by one.
Such an aesthetic cannot possibly be one of mere self-preservation,
like thinking “I alone must be protected.”

If you think it ends just by catching one person,
the next one will surely appear.

This way of thinking should be obvious if you’ve studied physics and chemistry properly.
You don’t gain this sense just by memorizing test answers.
It comes from learning how to observe natural phenomena at their essence.
And human behavior itself is a natural phenomenon.

It’s about time we stop dividing “humanities” and “sciences.”
Whether it’s a so-called liberal-arts fool or a science fool—a fool is still a fool.
